Lifted & Co Cannabis (“we”) runs this website and the licensed cannabis store at Unit 45A, 1170 Sheppard Avenue West in North York. This page explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Ontario privacy law.
What we collect, and why
Contact and product-request forms. Your name, email, phone number and message. We use them only to get back to you.
Age confirmation. Before you enter the site you confirm you are 19 or older. A cookie remembers that you did. We never collect or store your date of birth through this website.
Site analytics. Google Analytics 4 tells us which pages people view, roughly where they are, what device and browser they use, and which site sent them here. It works through cookies.
Photo ID in store. Ontario law requires us to confirm every customer is 19 or older, so staff check government-issued photo ID at the till. We may also scan it to create or match your customer record in Cova, our point-of-sale system. A scan captures what is encoded on the card, usually your name and date of birth, and we use it to confirm age, keep your record straight, and meet our record-keeping duties as a licensed retailer. Cova holds that information under its own security and retention practices as well as ours. We never photocopy your ID or keep an image of it.
You can say no to the scan. Tell a member of staff and we will check your ID by eye instead. It makes no difference to your ability to shop with us.
Online orders
Ordering happens on a separate platform, shop.liftedcannabis.ca, run by Cova. Anything you enter there, including order and payment details, is covered by Cova’s privacy practices rather than this policy. Please read theirs before you order.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us operate — our website host, Google for analytics, and Cova for online orders and our point of sale — and only as far as they need it to do the job. We also disclose information when the law requires it, including to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, Health Canada or police.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. Ours remember your age confirmation and run analytics. You can block or delete them in your browser settings; if you do, the age question comes back on each visit. Google’s browser add-on lets you opt out of Google Analytics.
How long we keep it, and how we protect it
Form submissions stay only as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry and a reasonable time after. Analytics data follows our Google Analytics retention settings. Records we must keep as a licensed retailer are kept for as long as the law says. The site is served over an encrypted connection and only authorised staff can reach our systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Your rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, see it, or have it corrected. You can withdraw consent to our use of it, subject to legal and contractual limits and reasonable notice. Use the contact details below. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Under 19
This website and our store are for adults 19 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger.
Changes
We update this policy when we need to. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
