Not Just a Store. A Destination.
We opened on 3 August 2026 in the plaza at 1170 Sheppard Avenue West, on the edge of the old Downsview airfield.
Lifted & Co Cannabis is an independent, Ontario-licensed cannabis store in Downsview, North York. Not a chain and not a franchise — what goes on the shelf here is decided in the store, by the people who work in it.
The building sits a few hundred metres from a runway that spent sixty years launching aircraft, so we leaned into it. Our door is Gate 45A, our logo is a paper airplane, and the idea behind the shop is that picking up cannabis should feel like the start of something rather than an errand.
That’s where Ascend & Unwind comes from. Some people walk in knowing exactly what they want. Others have questions they feel slightly silly asking out loud. Both are the reason we’re here.

Exploration
Every visit should turn up something you hadn’t tried before. We keep the shelf moving so there’s always a reason to have another look.
Discovery
Good guidance beats a big wall of options. Tell us roughly what you’re after and we’ll narrow it down, rather than pointing you at the shelf and wishing you luck.
Hospitality
You’re a guest, not a transaction. No rushing, no jargon, and no judgement about what you buy or how much you already know.
Elevation
A small ritual done well beats a big one done carelessly. Most of what we sell is for an ordinary evening, and we think those deserve care too.
Community
We’re a neighbourhood shop. The people who come through the door are our neighbours, and we would like to keep it that way.
Authenticity
We’ll tell you when something isn’t worth the money, and we’ll tell you when we don’t know. That’s the only thing that earns a second visit.
How We Choose What Goes on the Shelf
Every licensed store in Ontario orders from the same catalogue. What separates them is what they choose to stock, and how honestly they talk about it.
Everything we sell comes through the Ontario Cannabis Store, so the real difference between one shop and the next is curation. We keep a tighter, more considered selection rather than carrying everything — if it’s on our shelf, someone here picked it deliberately.
We order in smaller, more frequent batches instead of sitting on inventory, which means what you pick up is closer to its packaging date. Every product carries that date, along with its cannabinoid content and terpene profile, and we’re happy to read two labels side by side with you before you decide.
On price: we’d rather be the shop you come back to every week than the one you try once. We keep our pricing fair across the whole shelf, instead of putting a couple of loud deals by the till and making it up somewhere else.
Why a Paper Airplane?
Because Downsview was an airfield long before it was a neighbourhood.
de Havilland Canada built Tiger Moths, Avro Ansons and Mosquito fighter-bombers on this land through the 1940s. The site became CFB Toronto and stayed a military base until 1996. That runway is still there, underneath what is now Downsview Park, The Hangar and Rogers Stadium.
So the aviation theme isn’t a costume. It’s the actual history of the block we’re standing on, and Gate 45A is both our unit number and our front door.
We chose a paper airplane over a real one on purpose. The heritage is genuine, but the feeling we’re after is lighter than aircraft and hangars — the small lift at the start of a trip, not the machinery that gets you there.
